Our little outing {Rachel}

  On Thursday night we {the Slacks and the Baxters} went to the Manti Pageant. My Grandma and Grandpa live in Mt. Pleasant which is only like 20 minutes away from the Manti Temple so we stopped there and had dinner first. My Grandpa is also the 1st counselor in the Manti Temple Presidency! We had hotdogs for dinner then we drove to Manti for the real excursion.
  When we got there there was like NO parking. But luckily my Grandpa knows somebody who lives less than a block from the Temple {Their house is a cute little old pioneer house! I loved it!}. So we got like front row parking! On the walk to the Temple there was TONS of "missionarys" from other churches! I will admit... it kinda made my legs shaky and me a little scared. But I think that strengthened my testimony about having faith and believing in MY religion. One time we where walking by, and this guy was just yelling, "You don't need to trust yourself for anything just trust in God for everything," that made me stop and think about it for a minute. Another time a guy just tried to stuff a flyer up Jessica's nose! {Not literally... it just looked and felt like it.} He said, "Do you want to know what the _________'s believe?" Now I put those blanks because the name of their religion's name was to long and hard to pronounce!
  About the pageant... it was AMAZING! It is called the Mormon Miracals Pageant. It is a mix of Book Of Mormon stories and the Joseph Smith story. I love going to the pageant! My favorite part is when the angles stand up on the wall and do a little dance thing with their arms.... the best part! And the Temple lights up! On the drive home there was SO much traffic, and we got home at 1:03 am!
  While we where sitting in the shade eating dinner and my Grandma's house {before we went to Manti} I was noticing how many cute places there was to take pictures! So here are some of them... and some of my Grandpa's cows.

The after Math {Rachel}

  This is the REAL ending to my last post {dance}. So I got home and pretty much felt dead! I wanted to have a nap but I didn't. At about 7:00 pm I started to feel soar, already {I went to dance at 9:00 that morning}. Then I knew I was in trouble. Yesterday I went to dance again and could barley get up and down the stairs, not fun and hurting. Dance was good because I got to stretch my muscles. It hurt so bad and felt so good all at the same time!
  One of my other friends said she took an ice bath! FREEZING! I'm not that crazy... but next time I think that will be my best option. Today I am still feeling it, but at least I can still walk NORMALLY up and down the stairs. Life, Family, and Friends are all good. Have a great non soar day!

  Love,

Dance {Rachel}

  I just got back from my first day of summer dance! Oh boy... I am really in for it. Some people think I am nuts for dancing over the summer... and maybe I think they are nuts for running a marathon {no offense mom! I still love you!} but we all love different things and that is that.
  I have this one particular jazz teacher. I love her but when she makes me feel like I am going to pass out and/or barf... I have my second thoughts. Can I just say I LOVE to dance!
  My other ballet teacher {who I ADORE!} gave us the hole spill on the conference talk by President Holland about a  parable. If you didn't hear it or have no clue what I am talking about here is the link. {http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2012/04/the-laborers-in-the-vineyard?lang=eng&query=parable} And even if you did hear it I would encourage you to re-read it and think about what it means to you. I hope every one is enjoying their summer like me!
  In the end I just need to end with a picture that I took at camp {imagine that!} of our feet. {Jessica and I} we thought it was pretty stinkin' cute!

Love,
  Rachel

1 Happy Camper {Rachel}

  On Friday we got back from Girls Camp! {PS this is the Rachel version of it} I had the time of my life! It was amazing! So this year it was Stake Camp so all the wards from my Stake where there! Ya... there was a lot of people but I saw some of my Dance friends! {Yay for my other friends in my other life!}
  On Thursday there was a "Sunrise Hike" for those crazy girls that wanted to go on a hike at 4:30 AM, so they could see the sunrise atop the mountain. I am proud to say that I was one of those crazy girls that woke up at 4:30. I figured that it was kinda a once in a lifetime sorta thing... so I woke up ant 4:30 and went hiking. It was fun and here are some pics.

                                                          And this is one of my favorites!

  It was so awesome to have the big girls and/or the YCL's there to help, answer questions, do hair and just to hang out with. {I had one of the YCL's do my hair every day where where there!} At first I was a little worried but after a while I learned that girls camp is the bomb!
  There was 2 cabins {more like 1 split in half by a wall} I made up some names. One half all the {most} Mia Maids and Laurals settled in and most of the Beehives made a home out of the other half. Here are some amazing pictures of the "bed" I slept on for 4 days. {and the cabins}
 I slept on the top bunk. One of my other friends slept on the bottom and Jessica and my other friend slept just like 3 steps away from me!:)

                                          Here is my "bed" after I cleared all the comfy off of it.

  Now... little did we know we had some friendly neighbors up at camp... or should I say roommates. THERE WAS BATS IN OUR CABIN!! Some one said UUGGG there are bats living in our "house". Then I corrected them and said It is more like WE are living in their house!! Any ways, here is a picture of their house. And the rafters that they probably hung in while I was fast asleep.

  There was TONS of highlights from camp... but I'm afraid it would take me 20 years to type all of them. But here is one more.
  There was signs everywhere just to make sure you knew where you where going, there was a restroom one {as seen below} and one that just plain out said "Wilderness Ares" as if you didn't know. I think the Eagle Scouts just needed like 1 more hour to call it an Eagle Scout Project so they make a Wilderness Area sign. Oohhh, it for sure made us laugh.
{Don't you love how I made Jessica be my Vanna for the bathroom sign?}

   I am so glad to be home... but camp was awesome. {Besides the bats and bugs. PS I didn't have a shower for 4 days! Ya... my Dad couldn't believe it either!}

     Love, {The happy camper}
