On Thursday night we {the Slacks and the Baxters} went to the Manti
Pageant. My Grandma and Grandpa live in Mt. Pleasant which is only like
20 minutes away from the Manti Temple so we stopped there and had dinner
first. My Grandpa is also the 1st counselor in the Manti Temple
Presidency! We had hotdogs for dinner then we drove to Manti for the
real excursion.
When we got there there was like NO parking. But
luckily my Grandpa knows somebody who lives less than a block from the
Temple {Their house is a cute little old pioneer house! I loved it!}. So
we got like front row parking! On the walk to the Temple there was TONS
of "missionarys" from other churches! I will admit... it kinda made my
legs shaky and me a little scared. But I think that strengthened my
testimony about having faith and believing in MY religion. One time we
where walking by, and this guy was just yelling, "You don't need to
trust yourself for anything just trust in God for everything," that made
me stop and think about it for a minute. Another time a guy just tried
to stuff a flyer up Jessica's nose! {Not literally... it just looked and
felt like it.} He said, "Do you want to know what the _________'s
believe?" Now I put those blanks because the name of their religion's
name was to long and hard to pronounce!
About the pageant... it
was AMAZING! It is called the Mormon Miracals Pageant. It is a mix of
Book Of Mormon stories and the Joseph Smith story. I love going to the
pageant! My favorite part is when the angles stand up on the wall and do
a little dance thing with their arms.... the best part! And the Temple
lights up! On the drive home there was SO much traffic, and we got home
at 1:03 am!
While we where sitting in the shade eating dinner
and my Grandma's house {before we went to Manti} I was noticing how many
cute places there was to take pictures! So here are some of them... and
some of my Grandpa's cows.
